The flash midge fly is a slim, attractor-style nymph that combines the subtle silhouette of a natural midge with a touch of synthetic flash to catch the attention of wary trout; typically tied on a fine hook with a sparse body of flashabou or krystal flash wrapped over a thin thread or wire rib, sometimes finished with a tiny bead to add weight and shimmer, it mimics emergent and subsurface midge life stages while offering just enough sparkle to trigger follows in low-light conditions or on pressured water.
