Brown Drake Wulff

The Brown Drake Wulff is a bulky, high-floating attractor that combines visibility and durability for trout in late-spring and early-summer mayfly hatches; its mottled brown deer-hair wing and grizzly-hackled collar produce a strong silhouette and excellent flotation, while the stout body and thick dubbing resist waterlogging and make long-lasting dry-fly presentations in pocket water and riffles. Anglers use it both as a searching pattern when drakes are present and as a precision imitative when fish key on larger, dark-bodied mayflies—fish it on a floating line with short, buoyant tippet, and be ready for aggressive surface takes in bright conditions or softer takes along the foam lines.
